    Default Water Won't Dispense

    Model Number: 795.78542801
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 1-5 years

Water dispenser all of a sudden stopped dispensing water. All of a sudden means that I filled a 32 oz bottle with water this morning, and now nothing comes out. I hear the motor running but maybe a drop or two comes out. Will yank all of the ice to see if its still creating ice, but won't know for a while.

Is there anything I should check as a preliminary measure? I traced the water line and there doesn't appear to be any leaks or pressure issues.

OK additional information - fridge is making ice successfully. I tested water dispensing and a few ounces came out, but flow diminished to a few drips, then ceased altogether. Any suggestions on what to test next?

It could be the water valve. Try taking the water line that goes to the dispenser, out of the water valve. Then actuate the dispenser and see what kind of water pressure comes out of the valve. If it's still little to none, shut the water supply off and see if the screen has a blockage where it connects to the valve, if thats fine, then order the valve.

Here is the valve for your machine:

OK some additional info and questions:

Ice continues to be generated, albeit slowly. I get a few drops when I actuate the dispenser, then nothing. When you say take the water line that goes to the dispenser, out of the water valve, where exactly should I disconnect?

    Here?

I also put in a brand new water filter. I looked deep into the filter assembly and saw this - not sure if this is normal.

Does the ice maker leverage the filter? I ask because there are multiple water lines routing to that general vicinty, and since I'm making ice I'm curious if the filter is actually working OK.

Take the water line tubing off from the water inlet valve in the back to test the water flow.

I'm not sure about that filter housing photo, I haven't worked on many of these 795 Kenmore models made by LG.

Water flow is excellent to the water inlet valve. I've also identified a hairline puncture on one of the water connections. Its so small that a very small drop of water forms every 5 minutes or so. The droplet runs down the connection tubing and drips into the plastic reservoir under the water inlet valve assembly.

I've also examined the invet valve assembly, but see no leaks there. I'm guessing the whole component needs to be replaced, but it doesn't look like the same part you listed above. I have 4 water connections to the water valve: one to the filter, one from the filter, one to the ice maker and one to the water dispenser. It appears there's a leak in the tubing to one of the filter connections.
