    Default Hot surface light on

    Model Number: dont know
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: More than 10 years

i just purchased a house that came with a Kenmore Warm and Ready Zone/self cleaning oven. I was told that the oven was purcahsed circa 2001. The hot surface light is on though the oven is off and cool to the touch.

I saw on this forum it has to do with the element. How do I know which element needs replacing? There are 4 burners and a warm and ready zone.

    Thanks for your help!!!!

    Hi,

The hot surface switch on each element can be ohmed for continuity ( shouldn't have any when cool ) or simply and carfully pull off the wire one at a time until the light goes out.
