Wash machine making noise during spinning
Brand:
Sears Kenmore
Age:
6-10 years
Hello,
My washer makes a tremendous noise during spinning cycle. I looked at the drum (front loader washer) and noticed that it is not turning concentrically.
The tube must be rubbing, I can see marks from the plastic (on the outside of the tube) eroded from some friction with the tube most likely.
Thanks for suggestion on how to tackle this new project!

Hi,
BIG $ repair or new washer time....esp since it sounds like the inner wash basket support is broken and the tub is rubbing/scraping the outer shell.
Rear outer tub with bearing and shaft seal Manufacturer Number 285984
Complete inner tub Manufacturer Number W10250573
Outer tub, front Manufacturer Number 285982

Thank you Jeff, I am sorry to hear a not so optimistic news from you, my last one was better!
However, before I decide anything, do you have any recommandations on how to take the washer apart so I can see for sure that it is the real problem, then I will decide my next step.
Thanks.

Anyway, to remove the front outer shell I suppose that I have to remove all the clamps around it? at least 20 of them.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance!

Jeff,
I finally took the front shell apart, the inner tube is turning round on the back but out od round on the front. Could it be a fabrication defect and that the tube was warped to start with. Could I do something with the place I baught it from, any ideas?

Thanks for your time to answer to me Jeff.
I have decided that I won't repair the washer, too costly for a 9 years old one, I will go hunt for a ship and efficient enough one, we have tendancy to pay too much considering that we use only few of these features we pay for!
I am considering to sell some of the parts, when I see how much parts go for, of course I will be extremely competitive!

How can this be? from day one? or is it due to too fast spinning?
