Kenmore Side By Side not cooling on fridge side and hot where doors meet
Brand:
Sears Kenmore
Age:
6-10 years
So my refridgerator was not cooling on the fridge side for the third time this year. I defrosted it as the vent in the fridge was iced solid. Typically that solves the problem but it is still not functioning correctly. Now the frame where the two doors meet is hot to the touch. I vacumned out the coils and took the back off to take a look and the compressor?(big black circular thingy) is hot to the touch and I dont hear it making noise however I dont know if it is supposed to. Any advice? If its the compressor...what is the typical repair cost? I am in Orange County California
Thanks!
Jen

Hi Jen,
The condensor fan motor should be running any time the compressor is running. Because it's not working that would account for the heat between the two sides. They just wear out after a while. Here's the one for your machine:
Condenser Fan Motor 2188874 Order now for same day shipping. 365 day return policy. RepairClinic.com
The repair cost to have a tech. install a new one would be about $120-$150.
