Default High heat setting takes longer than lower settings

My Kenmore gas dryer model 110.74962300 seems to work fine on the Medium-High and lower heat settings, but takes "forever" at the Cotton-High heat setting. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like a possible exhaust vent restriction, pull your dryer away from the wall and check you venting exhaust hose/pipe for excessive lint or clogs to the outside.

OK, thanks. The vent path from dryer to exterior is reasonably clean. I checked that before posting. But, I'll give it a cycle on High with the vent duct removed and see if there's any difference. It is a fairly long duct (9-10'), but it's rigid, so doesn't get too gunked up.

Thanks for taking the time to reply with the suggestion.

That was the answer. Worked good as new away from the wall with the vent duct removed. Guess it doesn't take much in the pipe to gunk things up. Are those drill-driven duct cleaning brushes worth the $40 that they seem to cost online?

Glad that it was just the lint duct.

Yes, I have never used one myself, but I have heard they work very well.

Here it is online if you or anyone wants to order it:
