Default Ice buildup on bottom of freezer

Hello all wondering if anyone can give me some help. I have a side by side kenmore refigerator and have been getting ice build up on the bottom of my freezer. The model # is 253.53679303 Serial #LA32413097. Every 4 or 5 days I have to get the old gravy spoon out and chip away at the bottom of the freezer to rid it of ice build up. Any suggestions would be much appreciated....thanking everyone in advance...

Vickie.

Hi,

A plugged/restricted defrost drain might be suspect. If the defrost water cannot get down the drain, the water will spill out into the freezer and freeze. Drain starts behind the back wall inside the freezer section and would likely need to be cleaned/flushed out.
