Default Broken Ice Dispenser (GE)

I have a 9 year old Kenmore Refrigerator (GE), model 363.58095890. The through the door ice dispenser has stopped working. The through the door water dispenser is working fine. I took apart the unit and tested the Motor Crusher Dispenser, part #. WR60X0202 by connecting it to a separate 110 Volt outlet. It works fine. I took my volt meter and discovered that there is not current running through the circuit that the Motor Crusher Dispenser is normally connected to. What seems to happen is that there is a very quick tiny burst of current and then nothing. I tested the circuit that runs the ice crusher / ice dispenser Solenoid and that receives power fine. Also the interior light is working fine. I can't figure out what to do now. It is as if there is a blown fuse related to the Motor Crusher circuit, but I don't see mention of that or anything else that might be replaceable that would regulate the voltage. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do next?

Its possible you have a short in your dispenser control board.

Can you move that solenoid piston up and down ok?

Lots of times i see that solenoid in the dispenser housing get rusted and lock-up.

Jake,

Thanks for your reply. Your first question was: Its possible you have a short in your dispenser control board? My answer is yes, very possbile since the ice dispenser crusher motor test OK when I removed it from the freezer and tested it. Unfortunately, I don't know how tough it is to get to the dispenser control board, but I can look at that this weekend. If I do figure out how to get to it, how do I test it?

Yes, I can move the solenoid piston up and down, that hasn't been the problem at all. The problem is that the ice dispenser crusher motor does move. It appears not to be getting any voltage or current when it is installed in the freezer.

Thanks again!

Peter

Opphs, I have a typo. I mean to say in the last paragraph that the ice dispenser motor does not move.

That front little panel should just pop-off to get to it.

As for testing it, I believe you already did as you said in your first post:
