Default Model jvm1640bb002

Power went on/off a couple times and the microwave wouldn't work after that. It would come on but would not heat.

I checked the thermostats and one was bad. Part # WB27X1127, I replaced it and plugged the microwave in and the exhaust fan comes an and runs all the time. Unplug the thermostat and the fan goes off.

Any ideas on this one?

Thanks

G'day,

The one thermostat on the base area should be open...it closes if the bottom gets too hot from cooking below and turns on the exhaust fan blower.

Thermal cut-out.
Sounds like the wrong thermostat was installed.

Something that may help...

Thanks Jeff

I went to the link and followed the directions.

I have one question. When ohming the diode, it ohms in both directions. No infinity either way. Could this be the problem with no heating? The diode is $55, hate to buy it and not need it!!!!

I did notice that the magnetron didn't come on at any time. I ohmed it and it is 0.00. I think that is OK from what I read from another site?

Thanks

That can give a problems with cooking yes....most that I see that show continuity in both directions have some kindofa physical trauma ( cracked ) and the unit buzzzzes instead of cooking.

Generally very low, 1-4 ohms....but that doesn't mean it is "ok". Can fail open when power is applied, can act dead.
