Default Kenmore Electric dryer series 90 shuts off

Hi All,
I have a Kenmore series 90 electric dyer, model 110.66912692. The dryer shuts off completely during any type of drying cycle and this happens at different time intervals..say 10 minutes...20 minutes. When it shuts down, there is no heat, the drum does not turn, but the timer still turns. While the dryer is shut down I open the door and close it and push the start button and it "clicks" but the dryer won't start. I can turn the drum by hand with little effort. After about 20 or 30 minutes, I can push the start button and the dryer will start up and run normally until it shuts off again. Oddly, sometimes it will complete the drying cycle. Any Ideas would be appreciated....thanks

G'day,

Possible the motor is getting too hot and shutting off on it's built in safety/thermal switch...it will need coolign down time before it starts up again.

If you move the timer a little and then hit the Start button, does it kick in? Mine was doing basically the same thing. Changed the timer (about an hour job and around $90) and it's been working great ever since.
