Kenmore Ice Dispenser Flap Door?
Hello,
My Kenmore model # 25359683992 is having a little problem with the ice dispenser. The flap door does not open and prevents the ice from going through. It was working fine and just decided to stop working, granted it is almost 6 years old. Do I just need to replace the solenoid for the flap door? Is it possible that something else is broken? Everything else works, water, crushed ice, cubed ice. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi,
Its likely your heat motor that opens and closes that ice dispenser door has gone bad.
#35 here is your heat motor:

Thanks for the reply Jake, I will go ahead and order that part. Is this easy to replace or can I do it myself? Thanks again for the help.

Yes, it fairly easy to replace, just remove #23 & there is a screw under #28 to move then that comes off, then take the 2 screws off from your dispenser, you will see them after you remove #23. Then remove the 4 #26 screws, then get a putty knife and pry out the dispenser housing #4 on both sides, don't worry you won't break it, it has double sided tape on the back of it. Then you will see the heat motor on the right side.
Make sure you unplug your refrigerator before making this repair.
