Default ice & water dispenser power goes off and on, Elite 106.56686501

I have a Kenmore Elite model# 106.56686501 just about 12 1/2 months now. The ice and water dispenser do not dispense and the lights go out. A few minutes later they come back on and dispense. This has just started happened on and off in the last week. When power comes back to the dispensers I can get ice & water, no problem. Sometimes when they come back on I can just start to use them when they go out again. Any idea what part is bad?

Hi,

It sounds like you have a loose connection in your connector plug that powers it. Take off your kick-plate and see if that connector is on the left side near your bottom freezer door hinge.

If its not there, then take off your upper freezer door hinge cover and look there.

Located it on top left hinge but it appears to be a tight connection and, when I move it around the panel doesn't come on at all. You can just leave it alone and then, all of a sudden, the power comes back to it. A few hours later it may just go off altogether.

Ok, this is going to be kinda difficult to diagnose.

You may need to contact a local appliance repair company in your area, or we can wait and see if someone else has had this problem and posts the fix.

Any other ideas? The ice & water dispenser finally just stopped working altogether. Is there a relay or something for this?

Finally had someone out today who told us me the circuit board behind the dispenser plate is bad. Any idea what one of those runs and best instructions for R&R?

What color is your dispenser?

Its about $71 for the front cover control assembly-White

It just snaps off, if you look underneath the bottom dispenser trim piece, you will see to small slots, I use a flathead screwdriver to pop-it off.
