Default 721.63652 Fan will not turn off

Hello,

On my Kenmore 721.63652 the exhaust fan will not turn off. It turned on because of heat from underneath, and according to the manual it may stay on for up to an hour, presumably after the heat has subsided. However, after running over night with no residual heat, it is still running. So I unplugged the unit for the day, which was at least eight hours. When I plug the unit back on the fan remains off for about an hour and then it turns back on.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

I tried to look up that model number but nothing comes up. Is this a combination microwave and oven vent system ?

Correct. It is a combo vent/microwave unit. I pulled the model number off of the manual. and double checked to make sure I didn't fat finger it. I wonder what's up with that....

Hi,

Only reliable spot is the model/serial tag.

Either a stuck closed relay on the control board or a stuck closed thermostat on the base of the unit.

First would be to get the correct model#.
Check each with volt/ohm meter as per the wire diagram that comes with the unit.
If the thermostat is stuck closed, it is replaceable. If the wires to the thermostat are burnt/shorted, they are repairable. If they check ok and the relay on the board is stuck closed = new board time ( $ ).
