Question Kenmore Elite Model 790.4660* (stovetop not working)

I have moved into a new home with a 2005 Kenmore Elite electric range model 790.4660*. I set my oven to clean, everything was fine....HOWEVER, after the oven cleaned, the lock light stayed lit even though the oven opened and my stovetop will not work! We have tried to reset this by throwing the breaker for a few minutes, unplugging for a couple of minutes with no luck yet...does anyone have any other ideas???

Thank you, so much for any suggestions that you may have!!

So right now nothing is coming on at all except that lock light? No top burners work either? Usually what happens is just your oven stops working, and the top burners still work, this is very unusual.

I would start by checking voltages in the back of your range where the power cord connects to your terminal block. Should read 240 volts across the red and black terminal wires.

Also we would need your full model# as 790.4660* covers alot as seen here:

Yes Jake...only the lock light is lit up and the stove top stopped working. The oven works fine. I thought that this was very strange!
Could you tell me where to find the exact model number. It sounds odd but, when opening the oven door and looking at the plaque that has all of the numbers, this is the only model number that it had. I know that the * represents the color! I will get back to you as soon as I can get someone to pull out the stove for me! That will be today. Thank you, very much, Jake!

The complete model# should be located at the very bottom of your range when you pull your storage drawer out, you should see it on the left or right side.

    Jake,

Thanks again! The model number is: 79046603500. We have followed everything in the owner's manual and nothing has worked. We have unplugged it for a few minutes several times and it has not worked and have checked the voltage as you said. As you already know, we have the cooktop lockout feature. We can turn the eyes on and off but they do not heat up since I cleaned the oven. The lock light is still lit up!

    Thanks, so much!

Thanks, I looked through the information on this model, I have never worked on this particular model before, but the problem lies either in your control board or your lock-out board.

Check your owners manual, your may have up to 5 yrs. warranty on these 2 boards.
