Default Lights and exhaust fan stopped working

I have a Kenmore model 363.62702300 over the stove microwave. One of the bulbs which illuminates over the stove (not inside the oven) blew out on me so I replaced it. When I did, I heard a pop and the bulb separated from the threads. I did get everything out and replaced. When I tried to illuminate over the stove, both lights did not work but the button beeps when I press it. Also, the exhaust fan does not work but the button beeps when depressed. Everything else works fine.

Please help as the Sears repairman is $69 just to walk through the door!

    Hi,

Don't forget about the vehicle...insurance, gas, maintenance...tools...parts in the vehicle...doesn't cost me a dime to walk through your door or to push the door bell...but does cost me to bring a van with parts, tools to your home!

Mentioned at link, should never change the light(s) with the power still on!

As someone who owns a business, I realize that there is a minimum to get the vehicle and crew to the site. I am not trying to discount anyone's business however, I am trying to avoid extensive cost for a blown lightbulb in a $300 microwave.

Does anyone have any idea what could remedy my problem?

    Did you read?

    A copy:

Q - While trying to change the light bulb on the oven, the bulb broke. When it did, it threw the circuit breaker and the whole oven went out. After resetting the breaker, everything on the oven works except there is no power to either light socket. Any ideas or suggestions on what to replace?
A - You tried to change the light bulbs with the power still on.....tsk tsk!!
Hate to say this....but probably blew out part of the circuit on the smart board ( the brains behind the key panel you touch ) when the short blew. The light relay on the smart board may have been damaged but 9 out of 10 times when I check them, the board itself is damaged.

You can check with Sears on the price of the part to see if better to repair or replace the microwave.
