Default Kenmore Top Freezer Defrosting problems

Hi, I have a Kenmore refrigerator, top freezer style that is about 3 years old (installed May 2004) in a condo. We have had continual problems with the coils in the back of the freezer box frosting up and then the fresh food box gets warm. It is suppose to be a frost-free model. We have defrosted the freezer and everything is ok for a few days and then the freezer box coils frost up again. We have adjusted the defroster thermostat and also replaced the thermostat part three times. Everything works fine for a couple of months and then the frost comes back and we start the process over again.

The only info I have at the moment with regard to model number is from the Service data sheet that came with the refrigerator. The manual was not left by the builder.
Standard- Automatic Defrost Top Freezer Models (R134a)
P/N: 240379011

The part replacement number we have been using is: 5303918202

Not sure that this is relevant, but there is an ice maker in the freezer box but the builder never hooked it up so we have never used the ice maker.

The condo is in Belize so having a Sears repair person come is not an option!

Thanks for the help.

Here is that defrost thermostat Part#5303918202
Defrost thermostat kit

Have you checked the defrost timer, thats located inside your refrigerator's temp. control console? If so, next time its frosted turn the defrost timer till you hear a loud snap, then wait and see if the defrost heater comes on.

The model# of your refrigerator is located inside the refrigerator when you open the door look on the left side inner wall.
