Default Kenmore 70 series gas Dryer not heating right

I have a Kenmore 70 series gas dryer and it is getting a little old (about 8 years) when the dryer is started it may or may not begin to heat, so I removed the back panel to check things out..here is what I found

(heats initialy)
the dryer starts normaly I can hear a "click" moments after the dryer is turned on, I can see a heating element glow in the heat supply duct and the gas ignites, the burner stays lit for about a minute and then goes out, a few moments later the heating element comes back on but the gas does not ignte and the heating element turns back off. this cycle continues with no heat.

(no heat)
the dryer is turned on I hear no "click" the heating element does not heat up gas does not ignite and the dryer continues to turn with no heat.

(no heat)
the dryer is started I hear the "click" and the heating element comes on but the gas does not ignite, heating element goes off and the dryer continues to turn with no heat

the above is in about a 5 minute run time each so I can not speak of long term operations (30 min cycle) as far as the gas igniting 10 mins into a cycle, but I do not believe it is..

Any help is appreciated
Paul
