Kenmore Elite Ice Spills in Bottom Freezer
I recently purchased a Kenmore Elite french door refrigerator and from day one the ice spills out of the ice tray into the bottom of the freezer. When you open the freezer draw ice spills into the bottom of the freezer compartment. The Sears service dept ordered a new ice swing arm that detects ice level but it was the same exact part. They say they don't have a fix, but I remember reading somewhere on internet that someone had same problem and Sears did fix by replacing icemaker. I have to believe anyone that has same refrigerator is suffering the same messy problem. Any ideas or where I should go from here? THanks

Will replacement fix problem?
Thanks Jake for your quick reply. I searched for my model # on the Sears parts website and found the icemaker they listed had the same part number as the icemaker part # you gave me. Do you know if the icemaker design has changed from the original? I believe that it is a design problem and replacing the icemaker will not fix my problem unless they have changed the icemaker design. I would hate to get icemaker changed and same problem continues. Do you have any additional information that would help me resolve this?

If your ice maker arm is the wire type which is connected to the icemaker on only one end, you can try to re-shape it or bend it to make it stick down further...
good luck

Yes, you can do wire re-shape, I just remember replacing alot of these ice makers, this was the #1 problem with these 795 model refrigerators.
