self cleaning doesn't work on my kenmore built-in oven
Hi all,
I think this site is great. I am in Canada and have a built in self cleaning kenmore oven. It won't self clean now. After abour 30 mins, an error code F1 displays and then about another 15 - 30 mins later, a F9 code displays.
Any one seen this before? Does it look like I need to buy a new circuit board for it (the EOC card)? I have had previous trouble with the oven shuting down on me but that hasn't happened since I reset the factory defaults for the temperature. I found that the oven wasn't heating up as much as it displayed on the display thus I adjusted the temp as detailed in the manual. The oven use to display an error code and stop cooking.
Not sure if all this is related to my self cleaning issue now. The model is C970-416123. I believe the "C" means made in Canada.
Thanks
Greg

Hi all,
I recently posted a problem here which i had with my built in Kenmore self-clean oven. It didn't work and displayed a F1 and then an F9 error code. I had a tech come look at it and he felt 75% sure that the problem was the temperature probe. I had one ordered and I installed it myself. The oven is made by Frigidaire. Not sure they are only in Canada or not. Anyways, the probe was the problem since my oven is now clean. I also checked the temperature of the oven with a thermometer and it works better than it ever did. It use to not heat up as much as it displayed on the front display LED panel. Just thought i would post this for maybe someone else's benefit.
