Thread: Kenmore ice and water not working

I am having troubles with our ice maker and water dispenser on the door of our Kenmore 596.9555510. The ice maker cycles fine, but produces no ice (not getting water in the cube slots). The water dispenser will dispense water sometimes if you hold the switch for 15-20 seconds.

I have checked the water supply line and it is fine. I also took the water line off the out side of the water valve to the water dispenser and the water will make it out of the valve after waiting as well. I'm guessing it is the water valve that needs to be replaced. Are there any additional relays or delays that I should be concerned with that might be faulty causing this long pause or is it just the valve?
