Default Help - Kenmore 417.40042990 Front Loading Washer Won't Spin

I have had the above model front loading washer machine for several years. I has worked very well over the years but has quit spinning. Upon removal of the back cover, I noticed the belt had come off the pulley.

I have attempted to put the belt back on the pulleys but the belt continues to spin off when centered on the two pulleys. The only way the belt does not fall off is to walk the belt about half ways off of the motor pulley. In other words only about half of the belt's surface area is on the pulley.

The belt seems to have very little displacement and shows no major sign of wear and tear.

Is it possible that the problem is with the motor bearings and not the belt itself? Is there a way for a guy who is not too "handy" to determine the root cause of the problem?

When you turn the tub pulley does it seem to turn off-centered and kinda wobbles? Try to move the pulley up and down, then in and out, Do you notice any slack when doing that?
