Default kenmore coldspot 106.78182891 with clogged drain

I have a kenmore coldspot that is about 8 years old. it works well except that I noticed water in the fridge about a year ago. i finally got around to checking it out and discovered the drain in the freezer was iced over. I unclogged it using hot water. I checked it about a week later and it seemed ok. however, the drain became iced over after about 2 weeks. i just cleared it again with hot water but I would like to know how to prevent this from becoming a weekly routine. thanks.

Run something down the drain line, I use 1/4" plastic tubing or something similar.
