Kenmore HE2 Washer - Noisy when draining
I'm not sure on how to revise the title, but our washer is HE2, not an HE3.
Last night our washer start to make a loud rattling vibration noise when the water is draining/pumping out. Everything else seems to be working fine & the water is draining, so don't really know where to start. Thanks!

No model number so have to assume this is a Duet front load washer with Kenmore on the front, remove the front toe panel on the bottom front and see what is in the pump/trap, can remove the clean out to the pump right there from the bottom front of the washer...be ready to catch the water that will run out of the pump/clean out....if nothing in the filter remove the pump to see what is inside hitting the impeller.

Check the pump/filter at the bottom front of the washer. Assuming this is a Whirlpool built machine....do not know for sure yet.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I not sure the front toe panel can be removed, maybe I'm just not doing it right. Husband is out of town all week & have lots of loads to clean yet. Yikes. Thanks so much for your time.

Here is the breakdown showing your pump/clean out on the front after the bottom panel is removed:
There will be three screws at the BOTTOM holding it on below the front of the washer..
This shows the bottom panel removed:

I've had that same loud buzzing noise when my front loader HE3 110.42822201 would drain. Its the water pump going bad. I purchased my washer in May 2003.
I just last night installed my 2nd water pump!!! Works great now. No buzzing noise!
I've had $350 top loaders run for 15 yrs with the original water pump. Why did Sears / Kenmore / Whirlpool get cheap on these water pumps!!! I paid over $1,000 for this washer and I'm NOT a happy customer!
I took apart the first bad pump and discovered the impeller shaft pulled right out of the pump with my fingers. Second one did the same.
The motors on these pumps are made by ASKOLL in Italy. Art 294020 . Mod M75. 120 VAC. Intermittant duty 15 min on, 45 min off.
What a piece of junk!!!
$100 to replace the water pump every 2 years!!!
Family of 4, have water softener, we do an average of 5 to 7 loads per week

Yea, I'm not sure why some pumps last longer than others, I've seen some customers HE3 models go for many years with the original pump, then others not last long. All I say to my customers is to make sure they check their pockets so small objects don't get in the pump impeller and break or jam it.

Pump replaced solved noisy drainage issue
I was skeptical but my washer was soo noisy that I was ready to scrap it and get a new one. now the washer is as quiet as a mouse. Weird cause the pump turned just fine and had no issues visually. I did have some debris issues early on in its history seems just about anything can get past the seals and end up in the little basket. I am assuming one of those debris did some unseen damage to the pump
My advice is to empty and check the drain basket once a week or so and if its super noisy on draining then replace the pump really simple to do and cheap
