    Default KitchenAid Oven light

We bought a KitchenAid oven last year. It is model #KERA205. We used the self-cleaning process to clean it Saturday night. Sunday morning the oven light was on and we can't get it to turn off. Does anyone know what we need to do to get the light to turn off?

    Thank you,
    Judy I

    Hi Judy I,

We would need the complete model# of your oven, it should be located either inside the oven door, or on the bottom frame of your oven.

If your oven is less than a year old, you should still have a full warranty on it from KitchenAid.

It sounds like your oven door light switch is malfunctioning. Do you see a rod or button that should be pressed in when the oven door closes?

Thanks, Jake. I finally got a hold of Kitchen Aid and they gave me the name of a certified KitchenAid repair-person here in town. There is a button as you suggested that can be pressed in but nothing happens when we do. The repairman is coming on Wednesday.

try ask the repairman to bring the switch with him- sometimes it's not in stock so would waste the trip and bill you for "diagnosis" plus return to replace it.
