    Default Kenmore 106.55603400 Ice Maker

I've read several similar problems. My ice maker stopped with ice in the tray. I tried defrosting to clear the filler line. I tested the solnoid with an ohm meter which looked OK at 235. The claws now rotate to dump the ice, but no water is filling in the tray which sounds inconsistent with the initial state. The lights seem to be working OK also.

Can you suggest the failing component or course of action for remedy?

    Thanks...

    Hi,

    Did you read this thread:
    http://www.applianceblog.com/mainfor...ead.php?t=1688
Does the LED light stay steady ON?

What position are the ice maker ejector finger at now? Pointing at you?

Yes, I read about the blinks. I have:
    - 2 blinks when door is open
    - 1 blink when claw is turning
    - The claw stops pointing towards me with a slight up-slope and steady light with flapper depressed.

I'll review the manual mentioned in the post you pointed me to.

Ok, Then it sounds like you may have an ice clog in your black rubber fill tube just above your ice maker that comes down from your freezer ceiling.

You can use a turkey baster or an ear wax removal kit bulb:

Shoot it up in that black rubber spout, get a pan or something to catch the water that falls back.

You'll need to remove your ice maker to get good access to it.

To remove your ice maker, read post#10 here:

    Unhappy Unexpected results

I tried thawing the fill line and made a splice at the back of the freezer. It did not seem to be frozen as expected. I was able to blow air through the fill line. Note that no water has been released above the new splice since I made it.

I also tried testing the optics and using a jumper on T & H. At that time the location of the fingers changed and the LED blinking also changed.

The fingers now come to rest at about 5 oclock, nearly straight down.
The LED was giving erratic blinks of two long and a short repeatedly.
The LED has gone back to either two blinks or steady. It no longer gives a single blink as it did earlier.

Does this change in observations make any sense to you? It seems confusing and frustrating to me...
