    Default Oven slow to heat

    Model Number: MGR5770BDW
    Brand: Maytag
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a Maytag oven model # MGR5770BDW. It takes forever to heat to temp. The broiler and range works great. I checked the temp sensor and it is showing 1068 ohms. I checked the igniters and the bake igniter is the same color as the broiler igniter. There seems to NOT be the same volume of gas going to the bake element as the broil. The bake flame seems to be of less volume than the broil.
    Any ideas?

Ok, on your model you bake igniter is also used for broil, because you have the broiler drawer underneath your oven.

9 times out 10 its the oven glow bar igniter that causes this issue.

Here's the oven glow bar igniter for your model you can order:
    Manufacturer's Number: 74007498

    74007498

If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund when you return them.

Just remove the bottom panel from inside your oven, then undo the wing nut#18 and take off your burner baffle#11 here: 04-Gas Controls parts for Maytag MGR5770BDW - AppliancePartsPros.com

Then remove the screws#7 holding your oven igniter#9 and disconnect it from the plastic connector plug at the end, you will have to remove your broiler drawer to unsnap it from underneath.

Unplug your range first before servicing!
