    Default 417.40042990 stuck

Our front loader just stopped mid cycle yesterday. At first I thought it was the pump which I've had trouble with before, but it both fills and drains fine. I played with it a little and it seems like it simply won't advance through the cycles. I can manually turn the dial and have it drain or fill but it won't spin at all or progress on it's own.
Does this sound like a timer issue or a motor problem?

    Hi,

Sounds like the motor control board is bad, but first check the power connector harness to the motor, to make sure the electrical pins are in securely and not burned either.

    Link to control board:

    Thanks.
No sign of burn and the connector looked good. I followed the diagnostics as best I could. Voltage was as it should be going pin to pin. I checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it. It blew right away.
I figured I needed to replace the board, but continued the rest of the diag check anyway (with another new fuse). Resistance was offon both the 6 pin plug and harness. So I guess it's the board.

    Default Yup

It was the board. It works now.
Darn, I was really hoping it would be that 99cent fuse instead.
    Thanks for your help.

Unhappy Kenmore 417.40042990 replaced board and it happened again

    Hi Jake & Co.
We had the exact problem with no spin. We replaced the spin control board, and it worked fine for about 1 month, and then we lost the spin again.

Do you think the replacement board had a latent defect, or could there be some other electronic component burning out the control board?
    Thanks!

Its always possible. I have replaced about 50-100 of those boards in the last 5 years, and i don't recall ever going back on one that stopped spinning again.

But also check electrical connector at the motor, i have seen a couple of those metal pins either burn or pull out, and cause a no-spin as well.
