Default Display F1 and would not shut off

    Model Number: 790.95661102
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 6-10 years

Tonight after making dinner we got the F1 fault display and could not turn off the oven. Other buttons on the panel would work, timer, lock, etc. but the oven would not turn off. I flipped the breaker to turn it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Its either your bake element is grounding out, or your control board is bad.

If you turn the breaker to your range back ON now does the element come on by itself?

If the element doesn't come back ON by itself, Then your control board is bad for sure.

Here's the electronic clock oven control board for your model you can order here:

My stove is a Kenmore Model# 790.46582500. I just replaced the oven sensor and the F1 code (with beep) continues....

... furthermore, the surface units work. The oven works - comes up to the temp called for and then the 3 short beeps. The broiler works on both LO and HI. When oven or broiler are working I have no F1 and no beep but shortly after turning them off I get good ole F1 and that darn beep.

    Whatdya think?
