Default Electrolux FEX831CS0 - how do you get the timer button off?

    Model Number: FEX831CS0
    Brand: Electrolux

I'm trying to work on a timer problem and I don't want to break the darn thing. I have pulled, pried and tugged on the washer timer button and it won't come off. I don't see any release on the back. Seems the simple things are sometimes the hardest! Thanks in advance.

So just pulling the timer knob didn't allow it to come off?

Try pushing the knob in and turning it the opposite way you normally turn it.

I finally got it! There is a plastic rod that is visible from the back but it doesn't look like a rod - it looks like part of the knob shaft. I pulled on it with a pair of needle-nose pliers and and it came out. I could then pull on the knob from the front and it finally came off.

This was totally non-intuitive and as far as I can tell it is not documented anywhere. Like I said - simple things should be easy. All the other knobs just plulled straight off.

Thanks for the feedback - it let me know it wasn't something simple.

Ok, sounds good, good job finding how to get it off.
