Default Oven door lock is stuck

    Model Number: GR460LXLP1
    Brand: Whirlpool

The door lock on our oven will not unlock following cleaning cycle. I have read lots on this topic and tried unplugging, holding different buttons but nothing is working. I got the oven door open but the lock will not disengage. Any help will be appreciated. Also, do I access the lock mechanism by taking off the range top?

Is this a locking mechanism problem or a control unit problem since the error code will not reset?

I have seen the oven door lock/latch motor assembly either go bad or get stuck to where it does this. I would check that first, its located in the back of the range, you would need to pull your range out from the wall, then unplug your range, then remove the back access panel, its #6 here:

Also check the metal rod that attach's to it, to make sure its not jammed too.

Here is the door latch/lock assembly for your model in case you need to order it:

    Default Worked like a charm

Thanks for your help, the lock was stuck. After I rotated the lock, it worked like a charm. I now have another slight problem...

I took the front glass off of the door to get access to the lock last night. I cant seem to get the glass panel back on with the two side pieces...they dont all seem to fit underneath the handle on top.

    Any advice???

Keep trying, it will notch up in the door handle, its a tight fit so try to pull on the door handle while putting it up there, you may need someone to help you.

Glad you got the latch assembly unstuck, if it keeps getting stuck you will need to order that new latch/lock assembly.
