Kenmore dishwasher will not drain
My dishwasher stopped draining last night. There was a 2 inch layer of dirty water at the bottom this morning, but the dishes were clean. It is 4 years old, and this is the first time it has faulted.
I checked the drain hose where it connects to the drainage under the sink. Not even a drop came out when I unhooked it. There was no obstruction or clogging. I then checked the drainage hose right upto where it connects to the dishwasher, and it appears clean. Then I unhooked the hose from where it connects to the dishwasher, and water came gushing out. However, I did not find anything obstructing in the L shaped red connector or the hose.
Looks to me like a motor problem? Does this dishwasher have a different motor for drainage? Where should I look next?
Thanks in advance.

Ok first try to manually drain the water, push the drain/cancel button and notice if any thing happens, any sounds at all? Humming?
You have a separate drain motor on this model.
If you hear a humming sound and its not draining that usually means either something is jammed in your drain motor impeller, or your drain motor bearing is locked-up.
Page 21 here shows you how to take apart the drain motor:
