    Default Gas range (oven) problems

    Model Number: GS475LEKS0
    Brand: Whirlpool

Hello all, I have a Whirlpool Gold Super Capacity 465 gas range, the oven will not consistently light. The range top lights every time no problem. I can smell gas and see the spark lighter sparking but the oven won't fire all the time. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction on troubleshooting this thing, thanks in advance!!

I should add that I just tried it again and it fired right up, and is staying lit no problem, strange...

    Default Bake burner/ignitor

    Jake,
Thanks for the info on the bake burner, I was able to clean the ignitor tip and it appears to be working for now. The ignitor appeared to have some "stuff" on it and after cleaning it up it fires on the first attempt, I will keep an eye on the burner/ignitor assembly and replace if necessary. I understand that the burner/ignitor is an assembly and you cannot just replace one or the other. Is there supposed to be a certain gap between the tip and the housing of the ignitor? Thanks again for your help! Now on to tackle my ice maker issue!!

Yes Grant, I believe so, but don't know how much of a gap it should be.

Sounds like you got it working again, good job.
