    Default Kitchenaid Dishwasher Blinking lights

    Model Number: KUDS01FKSS0
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 6-10 years

When i push buttons on the panel, they all blink, except for the baked on cookware and the 4 hour delay, they do not light up. When i push start the dishwasher starts for about 10-15 seconds then stops. The coil does heat up.
I unplugged the machine for over 60 seconds and it is still doing the same thing.
Sometimes the light do stay lit, but as soon as I push start they go outm then the buttons blink when pushed.

    Hi,

Sounds like the ribbon cable is the problem, here's a thread that had 2 members with this similar problem replace the ribbon cable and its working(your model uses the exact same ribbon cable):
Kitchenaid Superba Dishwasher Model KUDS01FLBT1 will not start

Here's the ribbon cable for your model in case you need to order it:
    Manufacturer's Number: 8524447

If the ribbon cable is fine, then its possibly the user interface.

Here's the user interface for your model:

I received the ribbon cable and took the door apart.
How do you install the ribbon cable? It feels like I the plastic tabs to take the control board off will brake, any suggestions

I figured it out and replaced the ribbon cable. It is doing the same thing as before.
The lights blink when you push them, and when you push start and close the door, the dishwasher starts and makes noise for about 10-15 seconds and stops. The coils get hot and stay hot until you cancel the cycle. What else could it be and can i return the ribbon cable?

Yes, you can return the ribbon cable for full refund, less shipping. The invoice explains how to return it.

Its possible the control board is defective.

Here's the control board for your model:

    ok,
you have previously said it might be the interface. I really need to get this working,
At this point are you saying probably the control board, and not the interface?

Yea, thats the problem, you have 2 weird issues here, the flashing lights indicate the user interface and that heating coil is very odd, it should not even be coming on at all with the flashing lights issue, so thats why I'm thinking more in the line of the control board possibly causing both issues now.

    Thanks,
Before I do that, let me clarify the blinking lights.
When you push a button the light associated with that button will blink for 3-4 seconds, stop blinking and will stay off.
On occasion if a light is on, and i push start the light will go out, then when I push the button it will blink for 3-4 seconds.
Does that help point you in a direction?
    Brian
