    Default accubake electric burner

    Model Number: RF378LXPB3
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hi,

I have a whirlpool accubake smooth top electric stove. One burner heats up for about 10 seconds and then clicks off for about 10 seconds and then clicks back on and heats up and continues through that sequence until I turn the knob off. Bad switch?

Yes, sounds like a bad switch, when you put it on the highest setting does it stay on?

    Would need a model#

No, it does not stay on even in the highest setting. It just clicks on and off every 15 seconds or so. The model # is RF378LXPB3. If it is the switch, where would be the best place to get a replacement. Also, is there a manual to show how to change it?

    Thanks for your help!

Ok, if thats the case, that seems normal to me, its cycling on and off.

Do all the burners do this?

No, this is the only burner that does this. With it cycling on and off every 15 seconds, it doesn't provide enough time to heat anything up. Usually it will turn off after it has been on for minutes. This burner wouldn't ever heat up a pot of water as it's off as long as it's on.

Ok, then yes its the switch.

Which switch is it for, what burner? They make 3 different switch's, 2 are the same for the dual burner. Then you have a switch for the small burner and for the large burner.

Here's the parts list, look at #4:

You can just order it from that link as well.

It's the front left dual burner. Is there a way to check the switch with a voltmeter or something to see if I should be getting a certain reading from it? In any case, I will order the switch from your post above. Thanks for your help!
