Default Frigidaire #FGFL67DCA burner has weak flame

    Model Number: FGFL67DCA
    Brand: Frigidaire
    Age: 6-10 years

I have a Frigidaire stove model # FGFL67DCA that is about 6 years old. During the last few months, the flame on the front right burner (which we use for most cooking as it's the largest) has been getting weaker and smaller. It's now very weak and has a hard time lighting.

The burner base is clean, as is the gas orifice. I am assuming that the valve has gone bad and delivers too little gas even when fully open to provide the proper flame size. Does this sound correct?

I was going to buy a new valve and wanted to know if there are any particular tips or tricks I should know about. I assume I'll need to use either pipe dope or the yellow teflon tape to properly seal the connections.

    Thanks,
    PeterM

Yes, thats correct. So if the burner assembly and orifice is clean and clear then its the right-front burner valve thats going bad.

I use pipe dope thread compound on the new burner valve threads, the stick type, you can get that at any hardware store.

Remember unplug your range and turn the gas off to your range first.

Here's the right-front burner valve for your model you can order here:

    Jake,

Thanks for the help. I'll get the new valve and replace the old one. I was planning on unplugging the electricity and turning off the gas, but it never hurts to remind.

    Thanks,
