Default Kenmore dryer good heat but after a few seconds stops automatically

    Model Number: 417.88042700
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 1-5 years

The dryer seems to work and heat just fine. I run the function test sequence and the only problem appear at turn 4 with the dryness button, the lights on the dryness levels lights should be off and light when I pressed the button but instead the LED's are always on. Its possible that the button is stuck or something. That could be my problem? I would really appreciate your help!

    Yes,

It sounds like your thermistor or control board is bad.

Here's the repair manual for the Frigidaire & Kenmore(417) Dryers made after Jan. 2005:
    http://www.applianceblog.com/manuals...Dryer_2005.pdf

You would need a ohm meter to ohm test the thermistor at room temp. with the dryer unplugged.

It should read 50K-53K ohms at room temperature, if not, then order the new one and you'll be back in business.

Here's the one for your model you can order if you need it:
    Manufacturer's Number: 134587700

If your thermistor tests fine, then its the control board.

Here's the control board for your model you can order here:
    Manufacturer's Number: 137008010
