    Default Whirlpool Duet Shuts Off

    Model Number: WFW8410SW02
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I've had this frontloader washer for about 4 years now and worked perfect until this week. It has no error codes. All the display leds light up fine. When I select any wash cycle and hit the "start" it beeps and turns off completely. If I set it to spin dran cycle, it works fine and the door lock works. I have the front panels removed and checked the door lock mechanism and cleaned out the pump. Any ideas?? Thanks

Ok, take the bottom access panel off below your door and you will see a tech. data sheet down there, and go through the diagnostics.

Possibly the CCU may be the culprit.

Here's the CCU for your model you can order:

    Jake,

Thanks for your time responding. I found the diagnostic guide and did the Service History Mode and Diagnostic Test. It comes up with code F24 which is Water Temp Sensor Error. Then I did the Diagnostic Test and completed it fine, which makes me believe the CCU is fine. I also disconnected all the connections on the CCU and inspected the wiring. All ground wires are good as well. I even found the receipts from Costco which I found out it's newer than I thought. Purchase date was Jan. 2009.

Now I'm gonna try to locate the water temp sensor and do a ohm check.

I found the problem. One of the wires off the water temp sensor Part#W10467289 broke off (I guess from the vibration). Had to splice and use a tap and works perfect now.

Thanks guys, you did the hard work for me. Had the exact same problem right down to being a washer from Costco. Could see the wire hanging once I opened up the front panel.

Same exact diagnosis and fix. The connector was a pain to get to but once I got it spliced and soldered, it worked... thanks!
