Default GE Profile REfrigerator Model 24-frozen drain tube

    Model Number: Model 24
    Brand: GE
    Age: More than 10 years

There is ice building up on the floor of the freezer. We pulled out the shelves and the plastic panel covering the small drip pan. We melted all the ice in the freeze and did the hot water (and baking soda solution) with turkey baster routine. I could not be sure the tube opened up. I put the freeze back together and the unit proceeded to build up ice again on the floor of the freeze of the next weeks.

How can I get that dang tube working again on this model?

Run something down the drain hole, then run a little bleach down it.

I use a evaporator cooler spider snake to run down that defrost drain hole: http://www.azpartsmaster.com/Product...__CLR4690.aspx

They are used basically in Arizona to clean out the water pump tubes that run to the cooler pads.

I don't know if they would sell them in your area, but if you go to your local hardware store, they should have something similar to run down your drain to clean it completely out.
