    Default Whirlpool Dryer (No Heat)

    Model Number: GEQ9800LG0
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a Whirlpool Electric Dryer that does not Heat up. Spins fine, but no heat. I thought for sure it would be the heating element, but the heating element is good. What other things should I be looking for that would not allow heat??

First check the circuit breakers and make sure one didn't trip. Then check the power cord where it connects to the dryer and make sure one terminal hasn't burned off. If they check good, I'll help you troubleshoot it. Do you have a multi-meter that can read AC Volts and Ohms?

Circuit Breaker is fine, and and Terminal Block is good and not burned. I do have a Voltmeter and Ohm Meter and would appreciate the help...thanks a lot.

First, confirm 220 VAC at the terminal block where the power cord connects. Then unplug the dryer and remove the lower front panel. Set your meter to read continuity. Always remove at least one wire from the part you're testing and check #47-#48- #59 and #42 for continuity. They should all read closed. Hopefully that's as far as we'll have to go. If I was to guess, I'd say #47 is the culprit.
