Default Whirlpool Gold GT4175SPB-2 wont turn on

    Model Number: GT4175SPB-2
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

my unit was manuf in 2006 and has always worked fine. It now wont cook when you hit start. All functions seem to work fine except the turntable and actually heating. It will countdown like it is working, but is not heating. Keyboard allows all functions to be entered as normal. It makes an audible click when you push start and then 1 sec later another click that is less loud. The click sounds like it is coming from right behind the start button area at the lower right front of the unit. I have not taken anything apart as of yet. I have tried unplugging it to see it would re-set, but that did not help. Any ideas where to start?

does a door switch explain the audible click? It seems to me that it is some kind of breaker or something that re-sets each time. If no further input from anyone then i will take it apart and start checking these tips, thx Jeff

That is usually a relay on the PCBoard.

which leads you to believe what? Is it gonna need to be replaced if so or is it a fixable part without doing the complete board?

So far doesn't sound like anything wrong with the board.....check the door and door switches!
If you are concerned about the "click"...just sounds like a relay closing but nothing can happen cause the unit thinks the door is open.

Turns out it was the bottom door switch. It was stuck. I removed it and whacked it and it came loose insdie and now works. Im gonna replace it tho in case there some little broken piece of solder or plastic in the case.

Jeff, it is not like the switches you put the link for. It is a SUROX and has only two leads with a red button. Do you have those?

You only use the 2 required for yours and leave the third blank.....some will use lower 2, outside 2 or all three depending on the model/style. Can't use a 2 wire switch to replace a 3 wire but can use a 3 wire to replace a 2 wire.
