Default Gas Range Ignitors not working properly

    Model Number: FGFL67DSD
    Brand: Frigidaire
    Age: 1-5 years

    Good evening,

Last weekend I cleaned the stove top (Frididgaire 30" gas range Mdl FGFL67) with amonia (soaked paper towels covering opening w/amonia after removing grillracks and gas items). After finishing no matter which burner I try the only ignitor (spark) that works is the front right. Both the left controlers and the aft right controls have gas when I turn them to ignight but their sparkers do not work, instead the front right sparks for all 4 controls. I figured give some time to dry out and things would be fine, that was a week ago and same problem exists. My wife is ready to buy a new range but I would rather not and just get this one back on track. Any advice will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like a wire connection has come off or loose to have 3 go out at once. Each one of those ceramic igniters next to the burner assembly has a wire attached to it. Maybe when you cleaned it some came off. Each wire from the igniter goes to the spark module. There is also a harness connector for the surface valve switches. Check all those connections first and if they seem to be good you probably need to replace the spark module.

Thank you for your reply Rick,

I removed the top and all the wires were connected to the ignitors. I gave them all a wiggle, put the unit back together. Now all 4 ignitors spark together regardless of which knob I use. That in itself is no problem but the large, front burner will now not ignite (before was the only one that would) while the other 3 small burners will (did not before). The problem with the large front right burner I believe may be due to the 2 mounting screws for it twisted in two when I removed them and this may have the ignitor tip, now not screwed in place firmly, not quiet high enough to spark upward towards the gas hole but instead it sparks off to each side. Looks like I need to buy another burner assembly and a couple of screw to correct that (works fine with a match though).

That's normal for all igniters to spark when you turn on just one. Most ranges work that way. If the ceramic part of the igniter is broken or cracked it's useless and needs to be replaced. (I just looked it up to give you a link-I hope you don't have to replace all)
