Default Whirlpool GEW9250PW1 Dryer will not start

    Model Number: GEW9250PW1
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a whirlpool Duet GEW9250PW1 dryer, the panel lights up but when every I press start (or any other button) it just makes a beep noise. I put the dryer in "test mode" and I get a 09 code. Can someone tell what the problem could be? Also just a side note, before this problem started to happen, when I opened the dryer door there was a little spark as if maybe a fuse was blown but I didn't pay much attention to it.

    Thank you in advance!

On a washer maybe.....wouldn't think so on a dryer.

From the tech sheet I linked to above...

Be sure the dryer is in standby mode(plugged in and all indicators off).
    2. Press the following button sequence:More Time ➔ Less Time ➔ More Time ➔ Less Time – all within 5 seconds. 3. All indicators on the console are illuminatedwith 88 showing in the Estimated TimeRemaining (two-digit) display, if this test
    mode has been entered successfully.

See if any of the plastic buttons are broken....but if it won't enter a test mode the controls would be suspect
