Default Oven doesn't work (broiler does)

    Model Number: 790.78624405
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 6-10 years

Oven doesn't light/heat up, all else works (including broiler)

I can see the glow in the back of the oven, but it never ignites

You will need a new oven igniter. There is a video once you click the link to the part to change it out.

Here's the oven igniter for your model, you can order it here:

    Default Thanks

    Thought it was that

I have a little problem, unsure how to proceed

One of the little screw/bolt that holds the ignitor to the bracket seems stripped, it goes around and around and doesn't back out. I have tried a screwdriver under the head of it while I try to back it out, but that hasn't worked.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated!

Ahh yes, I've had that happen many times myself when trying to remove the old ignitor, some I had to cut that bolt off.

You can go to your local hardware store with the other bolt and they can match it up for you.

    Thanks for all your help

Just wondering, a couple of my knobs for this range have lost their little metal insert that holds them on. Quite useless without them. I have not been able to find just the metal inserts and the original knobs are pretty expensive. Do you know where I could find these metal inserts ??

Try the hardware store, or go to your local appliance repair shop and the may have some that match.

If still unable to find them, Here's the lowest price I found on those knobs:
