Default KitchenAid - Ice maker not dispensing ice

    Model Number: KSRA25ILWH03
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 6-10 years

Hi. I checked the forum and didn't find an exact match to my problem. If its a re-post, sorry...

The ice maker is making ice, but when pressing the lever to dispense the ice, nothing. No sounds other than the flap opening up. It quit working after quite a bit of ice melted in the bucket and drained out. I'm not sure if that is the cause or not, but thought I'd mention it. If curious, the ice melted while I was replacing another part that kept the compressor from running.

From what I could research in the forums, it sounds like the problem could be either the auger motor or the circuit board. Also, all of the lights / switches work on the front of the door (lock / unlock, crushed / cubes, light on / off).

Any insight on which part needs to be replaced would be helpful.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

For the ice dispenser problem, Sounds like the plastic pins thats on the water/ice dispenser support have broken.

You would need to unscrew the 2 screws#26 from the bottom of your front dispenser frame#21 here:
    http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/...a25ilwh03.html

Then look at your support bracket#15 to see if the little plastic pins are broken that hold your ice and water dispenser switches in place#14.

Here is the one for your model, in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer part number 2180226 is RepairClinic item number 449582

Hi Jake. Sorry for the delay in responding, I was finally able to get the ice dispenser disassembled to check the plastic pins. The plastic frame and pins looked fine. The levers made good contact with the switches and they didn't flex or move. Also, I checked the connections to the various switches, etc., nothing loose or any corrosion found.

I appears that everything, except the motor that turns the ice agitator arm, is working correctly.

What would you suggest I check next to diagnose the problem?

    Thanks.

Then your ice dispenser motor is bad.

Here's the ice dispenser motor for your model you can order here:
    Manufacturer's Number: 2188869

To get to that motor just remove 2 screws#35 and then the cover#33 comes off. It should be located under the liner part that the ice bucket sits on.
