Default GE gas range lower burner will not light

    Model Number: JGB918SEL1SS
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    I need some help.

The lower burner in my GE stove will not light. The upper burner ignites fine but the lower one does not.

I have taken the plate off the lower burner and note the igniter glows red hot. Occasionally the burner will ignite (gas on) but then seems to go off (gas cuts out)

Could it be a weak igniter? The igniter seems to glow red hot?

    Thanks for any help.
