Default Washer leaving grease-type stains on clothes

    Model Number: WCSR4170DAWW
    Brand: GE
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hello,

New tenant in a house here. After moving in, we noticed that our washing machine is leaving "grease" spots on our clothes.

What could be causing this? We've already cleaned our washer with "affresh". (The pictures above were taken after cleaning the washer.)

Could this also be a problem with our detergent (homemade) or our dryer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    MC

It kind of looks likes transmission oil stains (Serious Repair). But just to eliminate the detergent and dryer, take some white rags (without oil stains) and wash them in a regular cycle without detergent. Then let them dry outside and don't use the dryer. When they're dry check for oil stains. I see you're in Texas. If you let them dry outside that should only take ten or twenty seconds...LOL.
