    Question Kenmore Model 253.24452102

    Model Number: 253.24452102
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 6-10 years

    After power outage freezer stop working.

    Found food defrosted in Freezer.

    Fan was originally running now not...need help in debugging....

    So nothing is running at all now? Dead silent?

    Power outlet has power?

    Pull your freezer out from the wall, then look towards the bottom you will see a knob, thats your defrost timer, turn the knob clockwise slowly and see if it starts running.

    Here's the defrost timer for your model:
    Manufacturer part number 216744500 is RepairClinic item number 890598

    That was it discovered that after I posted.. How can I tell if it's bad or should I just change it? How often is the automatic cycle.....

    Well, what could of happened is when the power went off the defrost timer was already in the defrost cycle and just needed more time to come out of defrost, normal defrost timer cycle is about 30 minutes.

    You can test it by turning it slowly again till the freezer stops running, then time it and see if it comes out of defrost by itself in about 30 minutes.
