Default Frigidaire affinity front load washer will not spin

    Model Number: FAFW3517KR1
    Brand: Frigidaire
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a frigidaire affinity front load washer model# FAFW3517KR1 the washer will not spin! I have already replaced the control board and it still does not spin. The error code I got before replacing the control board was that freaking E23! Please help!

Which control board did you replace? The main control board in your console? Or the motor control board on your washers base?

Before you order any MORE parts lets check your drain pump motor, a few other members found a foreign object in it and caused the E23.

Its very easy to get access to the drain motor. Lots of times I see these get clogged with stuff and not drain properly, just remove the hoses that connect to it and check to see if anything is inside it.

The drain motor is located inside the bottom of your washer, you just remove the front access panel and get a flashlight or droplight to see under there.

Get a bunch of old towels to soak up water that will come out.

Here's the drain motor for your model, in case you need to order it:

I replaced the main control board. I will try your other suggestion and let you know if that worked. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Jake, you are the man! I did exactly what you instructed and the hose was clogged with 13 hair pins and .61 cents. The washer is spinning great now! My daughters have been banned from wearing hair pins! Everyone will be checking pockets before loading any clothes in the washer! We are so great full for your expertise and thankful we no longer have to go to the laundry mat! Thank you thank you! Thank you!

Jake is INDEED the man! I watched the accompanying video and then removed the sump hose assembly, and found an old sock and a couple bucks worth of coins inside! It was a bear to get the sump assembly reinstalled, had to remove the counterweight collar to do it. But everything went back together (no parts left over, always a good sign) and it's working like new. My wife is thrilled and I saved probably $150 or more on a service call.
