It stopped in the final spin without finishing the cycle and the door wouldn't open. I don't remember what lights were flashing. I woulld greatly appreciate any help with diagnosing the problem. Last fall we had to replace the mcu and ccu boards. We do't want to put much more into it.

Ok, lets first check your water pump filter for a clog, that will cause this issue.

With the lower front access panel off, The Pump is right in middle in front of you.

Unscrew the pump handle with your hand, get something to catch the water thats left in it in, or get some big old towels to soak up water that comes out. Then the pump filter just pulls out and you can check it for clogs.

Here's the water pump for your model:

We cleaned the pump. There was no problem. Then we did the diagnostic test. From there we are baffled. Would you have any other ideas?

    Thanks again.

Then its possibly your door latch assembly.

You will need a multimeter to do a ohm test on the door lock switch solenoids, the machine has to be unplugged before testing.

    The latch assy is:
    Whirlpool W10253483 Latch

Ok, here is the repair manual for your model(Yours is the exact same model as the Maytag Epic-z): www.applianceblog.com/manuals/8178686.pdf

You need to read pages 5-5 and 4-5 It explains how to check your door latch/lock assembly.

We will try that. If there is a problem with the door switch, would that cause the drain & spin lights to flash? We do appreciate your advice.

We tried the test. The door unlock solenoid was 60 but the other was 121. The door switch was all right, too. What now?

    Again, thank you.

Nope, both should be 60 ohms.

    Door Unlock Solenoid - Pins 2 & 3 = 60 ohms
    Door Lock Solenoid - Pins 1 & 3 = 60 ohms

    Order the door latch switch.
