Question Whirlpool Duet won't run, making a squeaky sound, tub won't spin freehand

    Model Number: WFW9150WW00
    Brand: Whirlpool
    Age: 1-5 years

I have a Whirlpool Duet Model # WFW9150WW00. It has been running great until last month, when the pump went out. Replaced the pump, worked fabulous again, until Mon. During a wash cycle it started squeaking while the tub was rotating, and by the end of the cycle was making a bumping, rubbing sound as it rotated and there was a bit of a burnt smell, like burned rubber? I put it on the affresh cycle this morning, (so we could hear the noise and hopefully get an error code) and while it would start to initiate the cycle, after checking its self, it turns off, giving a series of beeps and 1 light flashes 1 time. When the tub rotated during the check, it was def squeaking. My husband thought it sounded like a bearing going out. The tub won't spin at all when I try to spin it with my hand. Wondered if something might just be stuck in there? Or is that wishful thinking? *Hoping for a simple fix*

We thought we would give you guys the symptoms and see if you have any help for us. My husband is pretty handy, so he can check/repair whatever.

    Thank you,
About to be piled in laundry with 6 kids

Yes, something is possibly stuck in between the inner and outer tubs, or the bearing/spider arm cracked/broke.

You can first check for something stuck in it, here's the parts diagram for your model: Pump and Motor parts for Whirlpool WFW9150WW00 - AppliancePartsPros.com

#6 is the outer tub to pump hose, just remove the clamp #5 and that rubber hose will come off the outer tub, there will be a drain ball #4 in there as well, which is normal to be there, then you can fell up in there and see if something is stuck.

Also get a flashlight or droplight and check all the inner tub holes, I've seen nails and stuff get stuck in the holes and make the inner tub not turn either.
