Default Kitchen aid dishwasher stopped in middle of cycle

    Model Number: Kuds01dlwh3
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 6-10 years

My Kitchenaid dishwasher stopped in the middle of the cycle. The control panel does nothing, no lights either. There is still water in the tub. There is power to the machine as well.

If the machine gets too hot the thermal fuse (#6) on the control board will open. Check it for continuity with an ohmmeter. If it is open, check the heating circuit for any shorts or opens. Here's the one for your machine:

Rick, I checked the thermal fuse and it does have continuity. I will check the heating coil next, if this has continuity what else could the problem be? Thanks for your help, and by the way how hard is it to remove the heating coil?

I agree with Rick, but did you check for 120 volts at the junction box underneath the dishwasher where the main power comes in with a multimeter? I've seen those 2 wire nuts there melt and come loose and cause a loss of power as well. Lots of people just check the breaker and see if its tripped, but you actually need to check with a multimeter.

Here's the heating element kit for your model, comes with a new control board as well:

Yes, you have to pull the dishwasher out to change the heating element.
